A Ritual Unlike Any Other

We're talking grills, baby!

We’re back. How was everyone’s July 4th Holiday? We hope well, spent around the grill with your loved ones, some good food, and of course, Meat Head Charcoal.

We hope you guys are enjoying the newsletter, first and foremost. We are having the best time writing it, and seeing what you guys are clicking in to and want to read more about. Who tried the Burger Salad? May not be for our meat-iest lovers but hey, it’s something new and fresh and delicious and we call that a win all day everyday. But know too, we want your honest opinions here. So if you’ve got beef, say it to our faces. 😉

Okay, enough with the niceties- we’ve got grilling on the mind (what’s new) and a feature topic from one of Meat Head’s finest. We’re talking favorite grill for the Summer and I’m just going to go ahead and let you know, he brought the heat! 🔥

If you ask any backyard pitmaster, they'll tell you that grilling is more than just cooking. It’s an experience. A ritual. And for those who take it seriously, the tools matter just as much as the ingredients. After years of flipping burgers, smoking ribs, and searing steaks, we can confidently say that the best grill you can use this summer is a kettle-style charcoal grill. Don’t get too worked up, we are here to defend ourselves.

1st, let’s talk the timeless design of a kettle grill: The kettle-style charcoal grill has stood the test of time for good reason. Its iconic round shape isn't just for looks—it’s a masterclass in simplicity and functionality.

Here’s why the kettle grill earns its place as 👑:

  • Efficient Airflow Control: With bottom and top vents, you can fine-tune airflow like a pro, controlling temperature with surprising precision.

  • Two-Zone Cooking Made Easy: Pile coals to one side for high-heat searing, leave the other side for indirect cooking. Perfect for anything from burgers to brisket.

  • Lid-on Magic: The domed lid turns your grill into a mini oven, locking in heat and smoke. Whether you’re smoking low and slow or roasting a whole chicken, you’re covered.

  • Portable and Durable: Kettle grills are lightweight enough to move around your yard, or even carry to the next gathering, yet sturdy enough to last for years with proper care. How ‘bout them apples?

Honestly, if you only own one grill, this is it. (See what we’d love, is someone to come in and lead that underlined and bolded phrase to a kettle grill that maybe, had our name on it, or maybe was made specifically for Meat Head. But until then, we dream.)

Now, let’s talk about why Meat Head is a match made (for a kettle style grill and honestly, for every other one…. except those pellets. Those pesky pellets.)

A great grill needs great fuel.

This isn’t your average bag of briquettes. Meat Head Charcoal is pure hardwood lump charcoal—clean-burning, long-lasting, and made from sustainably harvested wood. It lights fast, burns hot, and produces that unmistakable flavor that gas grills just can’t fake.

Here’s what makes it special:

  • No Fillers or Chemicals: Just real wood. That means no funky flavors or residue—just clean, natural smoke.

  • Long Burn Time: Great for extended cooks like ribs or pork shoulder.

  • High Heat: Perfect for getting a steakhouse-quality sear on thick cuts of meat.

Meat Head Charcoal and a kettle grill? That’s a match made in barbecue heaven. There’s something grounding about stacking charcoal in the bottom of your kettle, sparking it up, and watching the smoke curl into the sky as the sun sets. It’s primal, nostalgic, and modern all at once.

Whether you’re: Grilling up burgers and hot dogs for a weekend cookout, slow-smoking a pork butt for 8-10 hours, or just tossing on some veggies for a quick dinner, this combo gives you everything you need to grill like a boss.

Final Thoughts: Why Settle for Less?

Gas grills are convenient. Pellet smokers are trendy. But nothing beats the control, flavor, and soul of a kettle-style charcoal grill paired with a quality lump charcoal like Meat Head.

It’s not just about cooking—it’s about connecting with fire, food, and people. And that’s what summer grilling is really all about. Grab your kettle. Light up some Meat Head Charcoal. And make this summer your best grill season yet.

Wow, we are honestly speechless and teary over the picture painted above. We are impassioned, guys. And we hope you feel the same way!

You guys still rockin’ out to those Meat Head playlists? We don’t know why you wouldn’t considering they are pretty damn epic. Also, if you are new here, follow our Spotify page, so you don’t miss out on those monthly launches- it only gets juicier with time.

Does this feel repetitive? We like it. So suck it up.
