A Season for Staying In...

It's Soup Season, baby!

It’s frickin’ cold in North Georgia. And if you are coming to us from anywhere that it’s colder, we see you. Georgia has always had a way of doing winter a little dirty- 70° on Christmas Day and a chance of snow mid January, but alas, it gives us an opportunity to enjoy those cold-weather meals a little longer.

That’s right… IT’S SOUP SEASON.

Big fans around here. Thought yall might want to try a little something new. Maybe you don’t….and every party has a pooper.

You gotta start with a quality dutch oven. We of course recommend one from the pros, but any dutch oven will do. Just be mindful of the enamel-coated ones and your grill temp- could be a mess if you aren’t careful.

Once you have your tools in place, could be fun to spice up an any-old-weeknight White Chicken Chili by smoking your chicken. Optional power move: smoke your veg too. I won’t go through the whole schpeel here, but will share an easy WCC recipe with ya below.

Another option: Sausage and White Bean Soup- easy, smokey (you could even cheat and just get pre-smoked sausage), delicious. Don’t cheat. You’re better than that.

Chase ‘em both with a Simpler Times. Trader Joe’s be doing the most.

Still here. Still helpful.

Speaking of protein, have yall checked out the new food pyramid? We’re thankful to see some change here and know our protein lovin’ folks are too.

We will end with some grilling tunes for this weekend, or even just for the evening as you wind down. We’re easing into January as best as we can and music does a lot for our crowd. Our Spotify page is chock full with {in our humble opinion} the best playlists around so check it out, subscribe if ya don’t mind, and we will see ya back next week.

At Meat Head Charcoal, our foundation is in the community we serve. Yeah, we make some pretty awesome premium, LUMP, charcoal. But it’s about gathering around the grill, bringing recipes we love, to you, products we love, to you and most of all, having a little fun in the in between.

We hope you stick around. And we hope you continue to enjoy The Meat Platter.
