Are You Ready For Some Football?

And a feature on our friends over at Wild Heaven Brewery?! A Match Made!

Cheers! And welcome back to The Meat Platter. It’s finally February, and we are glad to see you back this week. February means Super Bowl, finger food, Valentine’s Day, and according to Punxsutawney Phil, another 6 weeks of winter. [We were today year’s old when we learned there was a Groundhog Club for Phil because, why not, right?]

Starting off strong for the sentimentalists in the room, our playlist for this month is chock full of “sweet treats” because sometime, we all need to be reminded of a little love. Wether you’re in your feels this month or just want to listen to some happy music, this playlist’s for you. Our Spotify page is always around, for the brokenhearted or otherwise. And while we don’t like to boast or brag- the playlists are too legit.

Headed into the Super Bowl weekend, we remind you of our dear friend, The Meat Meter so you don’t undercook those swings and give everyone at your party salmonella.

Speaking of wings, we can’t really discuss football without them- the synonymous pairing that we all know and love. And while we’ve shared a few wing recipes in the past, here are some quick links to a few current faves:

Wings in the Air Fryer- paired with our Spicy Pam? fuhgetaboutit

Wings in the Oven- sub seasonings for our all purpose Founder seasoning. Game. Changer.

Wings on the Grill- drenched in The Motherload? peak performance

Wings on the Smoker- buffalo sauce is too ordinary. Level these up with Pam Jam.

While you patiently wait for your wings to come to temp, we’d love to talk to you guys about our first guests of the The Meat Platter in 2026.

We met Sarah and Eric of Wild Heaven Brewery back in the dead of summer at their Avondale location on the East side of Atlanta. An unlikely pairing, Sarah and Eric have made the science of brewing beer their entire personalities…and it shows.

Eric, a renowned horticulturalist with 19 years of award- winning all-grain brewing experience, and Sarah, a marketing guru, partnership strategist, and all around doer-of-the-things, teamed up using their individual expertise 14 years ago to grow Wild Heaven into what it is today. With 3 locations, and more growth on the horizon, they are exemplary of hard work, determination, and pivoting in an ever changing consumer climate.

You’ve probably heard of their beer, Emergency Drinking Beer, unless of course you live under a rock and we are hear to say: it lives up to it’s own hype. We are fascinated, and in awe of what the folks at Wild Heaven are doing- setting brewing far apart from the competition and doing it right.

We hope yall enjoy their video as much as we enjoyed their interview. And if you are ever down in the Atlanta area, stop by and tell them we sent you!

Why do football players eat chicken wings before the big game?

They give them hen-durance!
