Are You Ready For Some Football?
Teams, Tailgates and our favorite All American pastime.

We know you all don’t live under a rock. Buuuut for those newbies that need some reminding, IT’S FOOTBALL SEASON, YALL! Well, not quite but we’re close. And we are here to get you pumped.
That’s right, it’s every ones favorite time of year. You’ll find us grillin’ on the weekend, hangin’ with our buddies, enjoying a beverage or two, yellin’ “SILVERRRR BRRRIITCCHEEESSSS” at the TV. [If you know, you know.]
And while we are DAWGS around here for the most part, a fellow team member wanted to talk a bit about Ole Miss this week. A deep rooted tailgating tradition, he’s here to paint the picture and get you guys JACKED to cheer on your team…
At Meat Head, we have an appreciation for people who take their craft to a different level, and when it comes to college football tailgating, Ole Miss fans have done just that. Hands down, the champions of tailgating can be found in The Grove. They have turned one of the best things about college football into an art form, and they’ve mastered it. As they say in Oxford, they’ve “Never lost a party”.
If you’ve never experienced it yourself, trust us, you need to go. Under the shade of the oak trees, you’ll see a sea of red and blue tents, lined up in rows, with linen-covered tables holding everything from ham biscuits and sausage balls to pulled pork and pimento cheese, and everything in between. Whether made at home from scratch or catered by a local company, it’s always an impressive spread, and it’s always delicious. And it’s not just the food that’s impressive, you’ll also see decorations fit for a wedding reception: flower arrangements, silver candlesticks and platters, and, yes, even chandeliers.
The only thing that rivals the flawless displays is the hospitality. If you find yourself walking through another tent to get to your own, you’ll no doubt be greeted with a “Hotty Toddy!” and offered a drink and something to eat, most likely by a sweet lady who’s dressed to the nines. Stick around long enough, and you’ll have some new friends, because in The Grove, everyone is welcome.
Get there early, stay for the Walk of Champions and the Pride of the Southland band’s concert in the middle of it all, and count yourself lucky that you got to experience a tailgate that’s the envy of all others.
Sounds pretty nice. And wherever you tailgate to root for your favorite team, just know we are there in spirit.
Speaking of tailgates, we know grilling can be a real situation sometime. But have you guys checked out the Hero Grill System from our friends over at Fire and Flavor? Checks all our boxes for convenience and portability. Big fans of the Go Anywhere from Weber too- let’s be honest, they are tried and true for a reason!
Next up, just some grilling tunes for this weekend, and hopefully every one that follows. As we write this newsletter, thinking we just might need a special playlist for those football walkout tunes. Seems like a reasonable offering to get us excited for game day, no? Might that already be live? :)
Make sure you follow our page, cause we really like that idea and would hate for you to miss it.
Meat Meter is still hanging tight. And ready to make sure you cook your in-laws Filet to temp.

That’s it folks. And if you made it this far, thanks. Click those links, subscribe to the newsletter, share it with your friends, and oh yeah…. here’s that joke.
Why is a football stadium the coolest place to be?
Because of the fans!
