Beating the "Blues" with Blue Hound BBQ

We're talking all things BBQ this week!

Happy Thursday, everyone! We can’t believe we are almost halfway done with August.

It’s been a fun month, sharing the launch of our video series, some fun recipes, and killer tunes too as the summer months wind down.

Before you know it, it’ll be college kickoff and we’ll be off to the races chasing the fall season. You can expect some new grilling recipes, music, and of course, new faces for our video series upcoming.

In case your new here (or a returning familiar face- welcome back!), we are curating tunes for your listening, and grilling, pleasure. Wether you’re in the kitchen, getting an early start to an all day smoke, or lighting the Weber on a weeknight- there’s music for every listening ear.

This months playlist can be found via this link— don’t be scared, we won’t be the one to convince you to love Yacht Rock like we do…or maybe we will! And hit that follow button once you get into our page. It would mean a lot and you’d really just be doing yourself a disservice not to.

Now, onto the star of this week’s show!

If you aren’t familiar, this awesome dude below is our friend and expert pitmaster, Kyle Bryner. He owns and operates Blue Hound Barbecue in Dillard, Georgia and is a quintessential mountain-man. He loves to give back to his community as much as he loves being by the pit.

Kyle was raised to love cooking and you’ll learn a lot about how that came to be in this video. He is kind, smart, and above all, an excellent pitmaster. We had the opportunity to have lunch at his restaurant the day we completed this interview, and SHOOO-WEEE, it was epic.

He recently competed on Season 6 of BBQ Brawl on Food Network (Yah, guys, we told you. He’s a BIG deal!), and we won’t be the ones to spoil the fun of watching his season. He’s a quick crowd favorite, and it was awesome to see his journey unfold.

While we don’t think Kyle was searching for the spotlight, he’s a natural on the show and easy to root for. We hope you enjoy our take on telling his story.

Seems like with kids back in school, and some temporary cooler temps, we are looking to grill any night of the week! We’ve got some fun recipes, tips, and tricks in the works for you guys and are excited to share them.

Speaking of tips and tricks, don’t forget your easiest resource for those meat temps. Lookin’ at you, Meat Meter.

Before we close things out, we wanted to share a little merch update with you guys. We’ve added some siiiiiick shirts to our site, designed by our friends over at Feral Print right here in Gainesville, GA.

If you click that shirt, it’ll take you right to the page to buy. Do it. We dare ya.

Enjoy your weekend as the week comes to an end.

Here’s a little joke for you to tell at your next gathering…or maybe class party?

What did the pen tell the pencil on the first day of school?
Looking sharp.
