Pork, Pork, Baby!
Food that feeds the soul, all year round!

It’s the first newsletter of September! Post Labor Day blues are still in our rearview, but we are pumped to be starting a fresh month with our Meat Heads!
Last week, we featured Phil Bonelli of Hopewell Farms. He talked to us all about regenerative farming and the courage he found to take a leap of faith and bet on himself and his dream here in Gainesville, GA. If you missed his interview, check it out on our Youtube. While you’re there, go ahead and hit subscribe too so you don’t miss our next featured guest. We dare ya.
Before we get into it, a timely reminder of those meat temps here for you below. Pork isn’t one we mess around with. So go ahead and order that digital thermometer. They aren’t all equally made either, so indulge a little bit. Your guests will thank you.

Our founder is on the grill this week, bringing us a very simple, but really delicious pork tenderloin recipe. Around here, it’s easy week night dinners for us. Save the complicated cooks for the weekend!

We’ve also got a super simple Corn Salad recipe for yall to try too! You can whip it up while your pork cooks, seriously, it takes no time. We would be remiss not to mention we like to use a Vidalia Chop Wizard for the veg in this recipe. If you don’t have one, what are you even doing?

SO easy for a crowd- you can double or triple this with ease!
While we are sharing recipes, why not cap this solid dinner with a little mac & cheese. We leave that, to the professionals. Whose the professional in question? Snoop Dogg. This isn’t a drill. It isn’t a joke. Patience is the key with this one and PHEW, it takes the cake. Snoop’s Mac and Cheese in From Crook to Cook.
Things are gettin’ weird where it concerns our Spotify. So at the very list head to our page to see what’s going on over there.
September’s playlist is a hip-hop masterpiece, in our humble opinions. We are throwing it back and speaking straight to our elder millennial hearts. It may not be for the drive to school, but’s its a solid jam for post drop off.
We’ve talked about college football, but there’s some NFL fans in our crew, too. And the Falcons kick off this weekend against The Buccaneers at 1pm. Where our dirty birds at?! Remember that time we had those siiiiick Dirty Birds truckers? Feelin’ like we should bring ‘em back this season.
In honor of the game… here’s a dad joke you can tell your kids while you watch kick off Sunday.
