Telling the story of Jaemor Farms

Glad to have you back!

If you’re new here, welcome to The Meat Platter. It’s a true smorgasbord of recipes, grilling tips and tricks, and stories of entrepreneurs like us. We fancy ourselves DJ’s through our Spotify playlists and advocates for meats grilled to temp. [see our Meat Meter to get clued in.]

Last week, we shared our go-to recipe for perfect Pork Tenderloin and a favorite end of summer (but really year around) salad. If you missed it, check out our post by clicking into this newsletter, top right corner. We know yall are all reading this first thing in the morning on your phones, right? And if it suits ya, share it with your friends!

We’ll jump right into because this weeks featured guest on our Meat Platter series really needs no introduction. A friend to us and a familiar face to many, Drew Echols of Jaemor Farms sat down with us as peach season was in high gear to talk to us about his generational family farm.

Drew encompasses the whole meaning of these shared stories. As a 5th generation farmer, he knew that he wanted to step back into his family’s business of running Jaemor before he ever even finished college. Drew is really a guy that just “gets it”. He knows running a successful business takes hard work, and that being an entrepreneur is not just 9-5 Monday through Friday. Working with family, he set out to make sure Jaemor continued to grow, pivoting over and over during an uncertain climate.

We hope you enjoy his story, and the legacy of Jaemor as we retell it today. And if you are ever in North Georgia, be sure to add Jaemor to your list of stops. We frequent it often and hope it becomes a place you visit year after year too.

You can check out the fall events over on their site. Make sure you follow their Instagram, to stay up to date on all of the happenings out there.

We’ve told some incredible stories of small businesses over the last couple of months, and feel honored that these hard working folks are willing to sit down with us. If you missed those, head to our Youtube and subscribe so you can rewatch or even be notified of when the next episode drops.

We’ve got a little flat top grilling for your enjoyment next week. While we are charcoal lovers first, there’s a time and place for the Blackstone (or the many MANY other options on the market), too.

Think crispy edges, gooey cheese, and buttery onions. It’s gonna be a savory one!

So here’s that reminder of your burger temps to keep you looking like a pro!

Can’t forget to mention our September playlist. We won’t toot our own horns, but we here its a pretty dang good one. Disclaimer: might want to save this one for the earbuds in the office.
