The Dog Days of Summer

It's hot and we're talking beach bevvies and grillin' buddies!

Another day, another Meat Platter newsletter in your inbox. This week, we’re talking a Meat Head fan favorite, “The Companion” dog treats- our

…dog treats AND our oh-so-simple and favorite summer afternoon beverage.

It’s your last chance to enjoy those July grilling tunes not technically the last week since these will live on our Spotify page indefinitely, however, it’s your last chance to purposefully listen to those July tunes before we switch the vibe on ya for August.

Meat Meter needs no introduction. It’s here, for you, courtesy of us.

Alright, back to business. Dog. Treats. May not be the first thing you consider when thinking about a charcoal grilling company, but let us elaborate.

We are a team of dog lovers. And treating them, while we treat our family and friends is a natural occurrence on those summer nights around the Weber. So naturally, we wanted to offer a dog treat, something we felt good about giving our own pets and you could feel good about too. It’s beef forward and we hear, irresistible. Let your pet be the judge of that!

This is Sunny and Doc, loyal Companions and lovers of Meat Head Dog Treats. What’s important to them is high quality, all natural ingredients. Funny, because that’s equally important to their owners. We’re dog lovers, guys. And we feel good about each ingredient in these treats. Check ‘em out for yourselves, and treat your Companion, too.

A quick note, they don’t have to be just for dogs. Kitties like them too. We would just suggest your break them into smaller pieces before serving to your feline friend!

Separate to our shameless product plug, we’re sharing a end-of-summer drank for your enjoyment. It’s not complicated, just delicious and you’ll find yourself wanting for more before you’ve finished the first.

Spiked Sparkling Lemonade with a Basil-Peach Twist

Serves: 1 | Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz Sugar-Free Minute Maid Lemonade (holla if you hear us, Minute Maid)

  • 1.5 oz Tito’s Vodka (we also see you, Tito’s)

  • 2 oz club soda (chilled)

  • 1 tsp peach preserves or purée (cause we are Georgians after all)

  • 1–2 fresh basil leaves

  • Ice

  • Optional garnish: lemon wheel, basil sprig, peach slice

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker, muddle the basil gently with the peach preserves to release the flavor—don’t pulverize it.

  2. Add the Tito’s vodka and Minute Maid lemonade. Fill with ice and shake briefly just to combine and chill.

  3. Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.

  4. Top with club soda and give it a gentle stir.

  5. Garnish with a lemon wheel and basil sprig (or a thin peach slice for extra flair).

Enjoy those last days of summer everyone. And don’t miss next weeks newsletter. Things are about to get real juicy, baby. 😎
